What This Man Did Before Buying A House In Lagos

Date:

I think the best example I can give about the ordeal of buying a house in Lagos is that of my very good family friend Jonathan Arabia.

I remember just last year, 2021, precisely around this same holiday period. I got a call from Jonathan who recently relocated to Canada with his Family. He told me he wanted to buy a house in Lagos and that he wanted me to help him with it, considering the entire family was coming home with him for Christmas the following year.

Initially, I told him hey! Why get a house now? You’ve got cousins with massive houses around Lagos, so why not stay with one of them? He then shared his concerns with me that he didn’t want to stay with any cousin, and neither did he want to rent a house in Lagos temporarily. He wanted them all to feel at home, to have a place of their own. At least, they had all settled down in Canada and he felt it was about time he started investing back home. So buying a house in Lagos was his first top move.

Before he made the call and unknown to me, Jonathan had gone ahead to reach out to some property companies who gave him off-plan options with a 1 year completion time, around Agungi and Lekki County Homes. The options were great (all 3 bedroom duplexes), but the challenge here was that he was asked to make over 40% initial deposit, which was just too high for him. Also, the companies had no track record of such projects before, for a house in Lagos or any other type of property, which made my guy scared of going further.

When he relayed all this to me, especially the fact that he was looking for a reliable off-plan property, where he could comfortably pay installments till the project was completed. He also emphasized that he wanted a project that would be ready within one year, so he could move in with his family. At that point, I laughed at his over-zealousness but went on to introduce him to Julshomes who were handling a project at Ajah at the time for the same 3-bedroom terrace duplex, a ten months project.

So my guy contacted Julshomes and subscribed. They not only asked Jonathan to pay 5% of the fee as an initial deposit but the project was also already completed and delivered last month November. It was at this point he realized how lucky he was that I was just a phone call away. He just could not imagine how much money he would have wasted if he had keyed in with those other guys or the trauma, the time, the effort in is quest for a new house in Lagos. I’m glad I could be of help and still provide value.

The truth and lesson here are – “What you don’t know, you can’t know”. “Where your knowledge ends, that’s where another begins”. Like Asake said in his hit song, Organize, “Some of us are wise, every other person overwise”.

Anyway, Julshomes has another ongoing project at Abijo G.R.A, Lekki, Lagos (Optimal Court Estate – 3 Bedroom Terrace Duplex). I thought it would be a great idea to bring the opportunity to you guys here. To secure a unit is just N5,000,000, super affordable. The payment plan is super flexible and documentation is straightforward. Lastly, you have me to ensure you get value. Trust me, they will deliver.
