As the paint market continues to expand, the battle to find out the best paint brands in Nigeria on the chart remains. This is because paint is both an aesthetic boost and practical need for properties hence the housing sector cannot do without it.

Recall that Propertydome had previously published an article titled “Why Lagosians Love These Paint brands for Houses” in which people gave their opinion and voted on their best choice for paint in the house. 

The poll which was put up on social media (Twitter) had over 700 votes of people picking Dulux paint as their most preferred option. While Dulux paint had 65% of the votes, Finecoat paint came through with 23% and Berger paint had the least which was 12%.

Although newer paint companies like Armstrong paint, Hardrock, Plascon, and Double design paints were also picked by some users, the older companies seemed to have an edge over them.

Dulux Paint

Founded in 2015, Dulux makes the paint for both wholesalers and retailers and meets their painting needs. This is one of the best paint brands in Nigeria. The paint company provides paint in over 120 colours scheming, and the production processes are done with high speed and preciseness.

It comes as no surprise that Dulux holds a high reputation in the market and is one of the best paint production companies in Nigeria. Although it is considered expensive to some, it has been said to be a long-lasting paint.

Berger Paint

The Berger Paint company is one of the pioneer paint companies and has held its spot as one of the best paint brands in Nigeria. in Nigeria. The company was established in 1760 by a German Chemist but it did not operate in Nigeria until 1959. Berger paints have its headquarters in Lagos but have 25 depots across the country. 

It has brands in different segments, ranging from the Luxol Emulsion, Fire Resistant Texcote, and the Luxol Gloss. The company was formerly known as British Paints (W.A.) Limited.

Meyer Paints

Just like Dulux and Berger, Meyer Paints is a reputable and paint company in Nigeria. Since the establishment in 1960, Meyer has been consistent in its production of quality paints. It was formerly known as DN Meyer Plc until the stakes of its partner company were acquired by another company in 2016 after which it was changed. 

Finecoat Paint

Finecoat Paint is one of the leading paint companies in Nigeria produced under the parent name Chemstar Industry Nigeria Limited which is the flagship of the group. 

Chemstar Group, which is also the maker of Shield Paints, has grown from a small company which was established in 1995 to a huge player in the market. They have a nationwide distribution network and are indeed one of the best paint production companies in the country. 

Portland Paints

Portland Paints is yet another paint brand pushing the market. It is one of the most sought after paint in the country. The company began as a subsidiary of WAPCO, a cement production company, but went on to be acquired by UAC. Their products include decorative, automotive and distributive paints, marine and protective coatings. Their flagship brands, Sandtex and Crown paints, are quality paint. They have outlets scattered all over Nigeria.

In October 2020, Portland Paint accepted a merger with another paint company, Chemical and Allied Products Plc (CAP). The companies disclosed that the decision to merge was a strategic plan to aggressively grow within the Nigerian and African markets.
