Freedom Park
This park which was formerly Her Majesty’s Broad Street Prisons, is situated in Lagos Island. It was built to commemorate the 50th Independence anniversary celebration in October, 2010 and to preserve the history and cultural heritage of Nigerians. The park is beautiful, reserved and has food spots, side attractions which makes it perfect for small meetings and picnics with family and friends. There’s an entrance fee of N200 and the park opens at 10am and closes at 9pm daily.
Lufasi Nature Park
Lufasi is an acronym for Lekki Urban Foreign and Animal Shelter Initiative. It is located in Sangotedo, Lekki and was established in 2013 and is dedicated to preserving natural habitats. Lufasi park is a beautiful and serene place that has fun activities like children’s playground, volleyball, football etc. The gate fee is N1,000 for adults and N500 for children, the park open 9am and closes 6pm daily. You can either take your food along or buy some from the food vendors in the park. The park also has the Ekki tree (iron tree) which is said to be one of the strongest trees because it is resistant to pest and fire. There is also a mini zoo.
Ndubuisi Kanu Park
This park is located in Alausa, Ikeja a few minutes away from Shoprite. It is a cool and open space that allows you to enjoy nature in the company of friends and family. It has spacious huts, a play area for kids, and can serve as a meeting area for various purposes. The park also has free WIFI for visitors and allows you to come along with your food and drinks. The park opens at 9am and closes at 3pm daily.
Muri Okunola Park
Located in Adeyemo Alakija street, Victoria Island, Muri Okunola Park which was formerly Cloverleaf park is one of the beautiful parks in Lagos. It was renovated and renamed by the Lagos state government in honor of Late Justice Muri Okunola. This park is a sight to behold with the beautiful grasses and flowers in its environment. The park opens by 8am and closes by 8pm every day. Entrance to the park is free, except on days that events are held there. The park has hosted several events such as weddings, parties, concerts, festivals, picnics, meetings, photo and videography shoots.
The park has shops and restaurants where you can buy food, snacks, drinks and other things. Visitors also have access to free WIFI and clean toilets and officers of the Nigerian Police Force in the parking lot. There is also a section for children to play and have fun.
Apapa Amusement Park
Located in Randle road, Apapa Quays, the Apapa Amusement Park was built in 2008 and reopened in 2015. The park opens at 9am and closes at 8pm every day. There’s no gate fee but you have to pay to have access to some of the facilities in the park. There are also restaurants and shops to get food and drinks. The games and rides are available for all levels and are exciting.
