If you’re into real estate or you’ve been in the market looking for an apartment recently, you may have noticed something different, the fact that three-bedroom houses are fast selling in Lagos currently.

In an interview with Propertydome, Real estate agent,  Iribhogbe Samuel Osemudiamen of IOS Properties Consult, talks about this change and highlights other changes that have occurred in the Lagos real estate scene over time.

According to Iribhogbe, three-bedroom houses are being preferred by many home buyers currently because they are family homes and these days most families are small.

People are really buying three-bedroom houses currently, this is because most families in Lagos currently do not have that huge nuclear family, most of them have like three children max so they are not looking for big houses instead they are just looking for something small,” Iribhogbe said.

Whether it is a bungalow, terraced duplex house, apartment and so on, there are different housing styles currently. Many housing styles go in and out of fashion as trends come and go, today it’s three-bedroom houses, tomorrow it might be very different. However, the core concept of a home remains, a place where one can seek shelter and with the advent of smart home tech and improvements in construction technology, the change would continue to advance.

Speaking on technology in real estate, Iribhogbe made known that a lot of things are changing in real estate, from the security system technology to how home appliances like the heater and air conditioner are being automated.

Iribhogbe’s words; “In terms of construction, new techs are coming up each day with new approaches. 4 or 6 years ago no one would have thought about using a fingerprint security door in their house but that is what is in trend now. Everyone wants to get their house on a fingerprint security system.
