How Nigerians Reacted To Kiddwaya’s Luxurious Versace Mansion
Ex-Big Brother Nigeria season 5 Housemate and businessman, Terseer Waya popularly known as Kiddwaya recently trended on the social media platform, Twitter due to his latest post.
Kiddwaya is seen to have posted pictures of himself inside his house, the Waya mansion located at Abuja. The pictures show Kiddwaya casually laying down in what seems like the living room section of the mansion.
The peculiar thing that got people talking is the striking Versace customized golden interior of the house. The Versace interior, however, is no surprise as the popular ex-housemate is the son of business mogul and billionaire, Chief Terry Waya who is known for his love for the designer brand, Versace.
The billionaire once revealed the reason for his love for the brand in an interview saying “My love for Versace is because I love bright colours. I love flowers, Versace in a way, is full of colours, very unlike other ones like Armani,”
“Those days in London, I had a lot of them there as my friends. When they started the home furniture in 2004, the first house they furnished was my house and since then I have always identified with them. I’ve had very good relationship with them in Milan.” Kiddwaya’s dad said.
The Different reactions
When Kiddwaya posted the pictures, although some people complimented how good the furniture and everything looked, most were not having it. His tweets went viral as people bashed the interior. Comments from people stated that the Versace look was a bit too much and that it wasn’t aesthetically appealing. Others even went as far as stating the house looked like a mosque.
Some of the Twitter users who reacted include Odeya @all_ttas who said “The Interior speaks opulence and grandeur.. it’s a palace but I wouldn’t want to have this at home. The noise of the deco is too loud for me to relax.” Another user Somtoo @nzeora said, “Just remove the chair and here turns a mosque.”
The other users claimed the interior was tacky and asked why rich Nigerians do not know how to style their homes well.
Nevertheless other Nigerians complimented the versace mansion even though it seemed like they were only a few.
While Harriet Priscillah stated she loved the decor, Shaz explained that she expected worse when she heard about the house, but on seeing it, she loves it. @Happyskill1 also made known that he loves the Versace home.
There was also a group of people who wondered why Nigerians were surprised and making it a big deal as if it is the first time they are seeing pictures of the Waya mansion. Terry Waya’s pictures taken in his house can be seen on the internet and this is not the first time as well that Kiddwaya is posting pictures of himself in his house.
The last set of people who reacted to Kiddwaya’s posts were those that thought the Versace interior looked “Igbo” or looked like a setting an Igbo man would do. This was more comical owing to the fact that Kiddwaya is not Igbo.
