Never underestimate the power of a well written bio. A strong and well written real estate bio will make a good first impression and attract the right clients. Although, writing may seem a little bit difficult because you aren’t skilled at it, we have put together some tips to help you write an engaging and informative real estate bio.

Determine your tone

The first thing you need to do when you want to write your real estate bio is to determine your tone. A writing tone is simply the attitude with which you write. Create the perfect tone for your bio by choosing words that convey the perfect message and establish the emotions you want your readers to feel. Examples of tones that can be used include formal, informal, optimistic, serious etc.

Establish your point of view

A point of view simply refers to the narrative voice through which you tell a story. Your point of view affects how your bio is narrated to the reader. You can establish your point of view using either the first-person point of view or third-person point of view.

The first-person point of view entails you using “I” directly to tell your story. For example “I am a licensed real estate broker based in Lagos, Nigeria”.

The third-person point of view is the opposite of the first-person point of view. You write your bio like a narrator that is telling a story. For example “Bridget Zion is a licensed real estate broker based in Lagos Nigeria”.

Once your point of view is established, be sure to maintain it throughout your bio so that readers do not get confused.

Share your unique selling proposition

Your real estate bio should showcase what makes you different and sets you apart from the rest in the real estate industry. Share your role and what you specialize in. Let readers be able to identify if you’re a buyers or sellers agent, if you specialize in luxury or affordable real estate, etc. Be sure to emphasize on the value that you provide to clients. Write your qualities and what you have previously achieved in your real estate bio. Do you have any awards? Have you closed a high profile deal?

If you have passed relevant training and have certifications, do not forget to add them. You should also write what impact you want to make in the real estate industry.

Be specific in highlighting these information.

Tell your story

Every brand has its story. Do not hesitate to share your story in your real estate bio. What influenced your decision to be a real estate agent? What was your journey like to the real estate industry? What is your level of education? What is your work history? Note that it doesn’t have to be lengthy.

Sharing a part of your personal life can also make readers relate. This will make clients get to know you better and like you. Share where you’re from, what you’re passionate about, what interests you, your hobbies etc.

Remember that your real estate bio is not an advertisement. Keep it simple and show that you’re enthusiastic about providing value for your clients.

Your physical appearance as a real estate agent is an important part of your brand image. No matter how efficient and knowledgeable you are, some clients will still judge you based on your appearance. Some clients make hiring decisions based on your appearance, that is why it is important to dress appropriately.
