Your physical appearance as a realtor is an important part of your brand image. No matter how efficient and knowledgeable you are, some clients will still judge you based on your appearance. Some clients make hiring decisions based on your appearance, that is why it is important to dress appropriately.

In order to make a great first impression on your clients and avoid crude judgements, we have come up with a list of things you should never wear to work as a realtor

Ripped jeans

Wearing ripped jeans may suggest that you have no respect for your work. As a realtor, to avoid being seen as unserious, do not wear ripped jeans to work.

Mini skirts/ shorts

Mini skirts and shorts show an amount of skin that will be considered inappropriate by clients. To avoid being viewed negatively, do not wear them to work.

T-shirts with inappropriate words

Graphic tees are fashionable items right now. However make sure that you do not wear tee shirts that have inappropriate, rude and offensive words.

Anything that shows your cleavage

As a female realtor, you should never wear anything that will show your cleavage. Your clothes should be above your cleavage.

Flip flops

Do not wear flip flops to work no matter how casual the event may be. Wearing flip flops will only make you look unserious. Clients do not need to be bothered by the noises of your flip flops when you’re walking around and showing them properties.

Anything see through

See through clothes show your underwear. This is inappropriate. Make sure you wear clothes that cover you up.

Anything too tight

Your clients and colleagues do not need to see every contour of your body even if you have a great shape. Wear clothes that adequately fit.

Workout gear

Plan your schedule accordingly to avoid appearing in front of your client in your workout gear. Meeting a client in your workout gear will only make you look like you do not know how to plan ahead.
